El Kazakhstan ha obert un nou front en el control de l’islam públic. Després de prohibir el burca i el niqab, el govern posa ara el focus en els predicadors islàmics que fan sermons a les xarxes socials sense autorització de l’autoritat musulmana oficial del país (el Muftiat). Diversos diputats alerten que aquests imams d’internet poden influir en els joves, erosionar els valors nacionals i alimentar una religiositat fora del control institucional.

Kursiv Media explica que el debat s’ha accelerat arran de diverses polèmiques protagonitzades per predicadors no oficials. El cas més sonat és el de Kurbanali Akhmet, un predicador sufí que va afirmar en un podcast que havia “regalat” una de les seves dones a un alumne. L’episodi va provocar una forta reacció política i religiosa, i va servir als diputats kazakhs per reclamar que la policia investigui els sermons islàmics difosos a internet sense el permís del Muftiat.

Internet és la mesquita que l’Estat vol controlar

Durant anys, l’Estat kazakh podia controlar la predicació religiosa a través de les mesquites, els imams registrats i el Muftiat oficial. Però les xarxes han trencat aquest esquema. Ara un predicador pot arribar a milers de joves des d’un canal de YouTube, un directe de TikTok o un podcast sense passar per cap mesquita ni per cap autoritat religiosa reconeguda. Per això el govern ja no mira només els sermons dels divendres, sinó també els vídeos curts, les entrevistes i els consells religiosos que circulen per internet.

Aquest és el fons de l’ofensiva contra els imams digitals. El problema, per a Kazakhstan, no és només que alguns predicadors difonguin idees radicals o missatges contraris als valors nacionals, sinó que construeixin autoritat religiosa fora del control de l’Estat. A la pràctica, internet s’ha convertit en una nova mesquita sense murs, sense registre i sense imam oficial. I el govern kazakh vol que també aquest espai passi pel filtre del Muftiat.

El diputat Murat Abenov ho ha expressat de manera directa. Segons ell, si el Muftiat no ha autoritzat oficialment una persona a predicar en nom seu, aquella predicació és il·legal i la policia ha de fer-ne responsables els autors. Abenov defensa que qualsevol predicador independent, encara que es presenti com a ustaz o mestre religiós, hauria de ser investigat si actua al marge de l’autoritat musulmana oficial del país.
