Els veïns de Bellvitge, a l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, han decidit actuar pel seu compte davant l’increment de robatoris i agressions, especialment contra la gent gran. Aquesta setmana, diverses entrades del barri han aparegut amb cartells amb el missatge contundent: «Si robes als nostres avis, assumeix les conseqüències». Darrere la iniciativa hi ha les patrulles veïnals, grups organitzats de residents que recorren els carrers de nit per dissuadir els delinqüents i protegir els veïns més vulnerables.

Els membres d’aquestes patrulles denuncien una sensació d’impunitat per part de les autoritats i una presència policial insuficient. Asseguren que no es tracta de violència, sinó de vigilància activa. Però el missatge és clar: «a Bellvitge, els veïns no callarem».

Bellvitge és un dels barris més emblemàtics i populars de l’Hospitalet. Va néixer als anys 60 com a barri de promoció obrera, construït per acollir milers de famílies immigrants arribades d’altres punts d’Espanya. Amb grans blocs, espais oberts i un teixit social molt actiu, Bellvitge ha estat històricament un exemple d’organització comunitària i reivindicació veïnal.

Tot i això, en les darreres dècades el barri ha viscut un procés de degradació urbana i social. L’atur, la precarietat, la manca d’inversions públiques i l’arribada de delinqüència organitzada han alimentat una sensació d’abandonament institucional. Els veïns asseguren que les agressions a la gent gran, els robatoris de mòbils i bosses, i l’ocupació de pisos han augmentat. I davant la inacció, alguns han decidit passar a l’acció.

Entre l’autoorganització i la desesperació

Les patrulles veïnals de Bellvitge no són noves. Ja van sorgir en altres moments de tensió, però l’onada actual de delictes ha fet esclatar la indignació col·lectiva. El cartell dels «avis» n’és només una mostra: un avís clar a delinqüents, però també una crida d’auxili a les administracions.

Mentre les institucions fan veure que no passa res, Bellvitge ha decidit no esperar més. I ho fa amb el que sempre ha tingut: autoorganització, orgull de barri i una memòria col·lectiva que no oblida d’on ve.
