Aquesta instrumentalització educativa genera recel en sectors que consideren que l’escola pública no pot ser un vehicle de propaganda d’un estat estranger amb interessos expansionistes.

Catalunya aplica el programa d’àrab marroquí sense oposició

El programa de cultura i llengua àrab gestionat pel Marroc es manté actiu en 122 escoles de Catalunya, on a 4 s’imparteix en horari lectiu. Mentre que a Madrid i altres llocs s’han alçat veus crítiques, a Catalunya el programa de llengua àrab i cultura marroquina s’aplica de forma silenciosa i sense cap debat públic. La Generalitat facilita espais, horaris i infraestructura a professors designats pel Marroc, sense qüestionar-ne els continguts ni les implicacions ideològiques, religioses o polítiques.

El mateix programa preveu que quan hi ha suficient demanda l’assignatura passa a l’horari lectiu i el funcionari del Marroc passa a formar part de l’equip del centre. De moment, només passa a 4 escoles però la previsió és que n’hi hagi més. Això podria derivar en una presència creixent del programa dins del currículum escolar, amb totes les implicacions que això comporta pel que fa a la laïcitat, la supervisió pedagògica i la influència ideològica externa en el sistema educatiu català.

La cancel·lació del programa per part del govern de Madrid ha posat sobre la taula qüestions de fons que van més enllà de l’aprenentatge de l’àrab o la preservació de la cultura d’origen.
