L’islamisme britànic ja no es conforma amb denunciar la “islamofòbia”. Ara també parla d’entrenar físicament els musulmans des de les mesquites. Roshan Salih, editor i fundador del portal musulmà 5Pillars, ha reclamat un “programa massiu d’entrenament físic” perquè la comunitat musulmana del Regne Unit sigui “la més forta” i “la més capaç de defensar-se” del país. La proposta no es limita a gimnasos o clubs esportius: Salih defensa que aquesta formació s’ofereixi des de “cada mesquita” i “cada centre comunitari”.

Les declaracions es van fer al podcast Muslims Uncensored, del mateix 5Pillars, en un debat sobre la pel·lícula Citizen Vigilante. Salih va presentar el film com una obra antimusulmana i va defensar que cal destinar recursos a plantar cara a l’extrema dreta “a peu de carrer”. Però el missatge de fons va molt més enllà de la crítica a una pel·lícula: convertir les mesquites i centres islàmics en espais d’organització física de la comunitat musulmana.

“Han de saber que enfrontar-se a un musulmà no serà fàcil”.

El cap de setmana anterior, 5Pillars va publicar a les xarxes un text signat pel seu editor on afirmava que “tots els musulmans que viuen al Regne Unit han d’aprendre a defensar-se: homes, dones i nens”. El diagnòstic era encara més explícit: “Hi ha una clara campanya per intimidar els musulmans”. Segons Salih, els “anomenats patriotes” segueixen musulmans “pels carrers i pels parcs” per provocar incidents.

I ho rematava amb una crida a la força col·lectiva: “Hem de convertir-nos en la comunitat més en forma, forta i sàvia del Regne Unit”. En el mateix text, assegurava que els musulmans estan “amenaçats” i que “no tenim més remei que afrontar aquesta amenaça”. El missatge acabava amb una advertència als “matons”: “haurien de saber que enfrontar-se a un musulmà no serà fàcil”.
