Segons ha publicat GB News, la instrucció afecta comentaris o comportaments que no necessàriament constitueixen delicte, però que poden quedar anotats si un agent interpreta que han traspassat un límit.

La definició britànica d’“hostilitat antimusulmana”

La mesura s’emmarca en la nova definició britànica d’“hostilitat antimusulmana”, adoptada pel govern del Regne Unit el març de 2026. Aquesta definició és no vinculant i no crea nous delictes. El text oficial afirma que vol protegir les persones musulmanes, no l’islam com a religió, i que la crítica legal a les creences religioses, inclòs l’islam, continua protegida.

El punt central del cas és l’aplicació policial. Segons la informació publicada, South Wales Police deixa en mans dels agents decidir quines conductes superen el “debat legítim” sobre l’islam o els musulmans. Si un agent considera que s’ha creuat aquesta frontera, la policia pot apuntar el ciutadà en un registre d’incidents antisocials, encara que no hi hagi cap condemna ni cap delicte acreditat.

La Free Speech Union ha enviat una carta formal a South Wales Police demanant que retiri aquesta guia interna. L’organització sosté que aquests registres poden afectar persones que expressin opinions religioses, filosòfiques o polítiques legals. També adverteix que aquesta mena d’anotacions podrien aparèixer en controls reforçats d’antecedents, els Enhanced DBS checks, utilitzats en feines amb menors, persones vulnerables o àmbits sensibles.

South Wales Police ha confirmat que ha rebut la correspondència de la Free Speech Union i que l’assumpte continua obert.
