Segrest d’un home a Moscú per criticar l’islam

Diversos homes van segrestar el youtuber Areg Shchepikhin a l’estació Yaroslavski de Moscou, a plena llum del dia i davant de diversos testimonis. En els vídeos es veu com el forcen a entrar al maleter d’un tot terreny agafat de les quatre extremitats. Segons The Moscow Times, els agressors portaven vestit i barba, i es van presentar com a agents de la Guàrdia Nacional Russa. Ni la seguretat ni ningú va fer res per ajudar-lo.

Shchepikhin va publicar diversos vídeos a internet criticant l’islam i el poble txetxè. Alguns sectors els han considerat a discursos d’odi. Les autoritats txetxenes justifiquen l’acció com una “detenció legal” i admeten la seva participació. A més, la màxima autoritat de l’islam txetxè, el muftí Salah Mezhiev , va dir que Shchepikhin va cometre un delicte greu que cal castiga perquè posa en perill «els fonaments de la moralitat humana».

Colpejat i obligat a demanar perdó

La policia russa va iniciar una cerca i va aconseguir trobar el cotxe però no a la víctima. Al cap d’unes hores, el youtuber va aparèixer en un vídeo demanant disculpes públicament pel que havia dit. Amb signes visibles de tensió, assegurava que s’havia equivocat i que respectava l’islam. En declaracions posteriors, Shchepikhin va explicar que va ser colpejat i intimidat pels seus segrestadors i que el van obligar a enregistrar aquest vídeo.

Els sis homes implicats en l’incident van ser detinguts i portats al departament per aclarir les circumstàncies. Tres d’ells van declarar que eren empleats actius de la Guàrdia Nacional Russa. Posteriorment, segons islamnews.ru, tots els detinguts van ser alliberats.

Aquest cas ha reobert el debat sobre els límits de la llibertat d’expressió a Rússia, especialment quan es tracta de crítiques a l’islam o a les repúbliques del Caucas. També ha tornat a posar en qüestió el poder extraterritorial de les forces txetxenes, que han actuat en diverses ocasions fora del seu territori amb impunitat i sense comunicar-ho a ningú.
