Segons una investigació publicada per El Español el març de 2025, basada en dades oficials del Ministeri de l’Interior i en les intervencions d’experts durant la VII Jornada ‘Població, Seguretat i Territori’, Espanya està assistint a una nova onada de gihadisme amb característiques inèdites: els detinguts són cada cop més joves, més radicals i més ignorants dels principis de l’islam.

El 2024 va ser un any rècord: 81 persones van ser arrestades per terrorisme jihadista, de les quals 32 tenien menys de 25 anys i 15 eren menors d’edat. Els experts alerten que la tendència no només es manté, sinó que es consolida. Entre els casos més impactants del 2024, destaca el de dos menors detinguts a Elx, que pretenien fer explotar una basílica durant la nit de Cap d’Any. També el d’un jove de 16 anys arrestat a Montellano (Sevilla), que s’havia fabricat a casa l’explosiu conegut com “La Mare de Satán” amb intenció de cometre un atemptat suïcida en una comissaria. A Sitges, un altre adolescent amb el mateix perfil va ser interceptat abans d’atacar el seu institut.

Els cossos policials i els jutges coincideixen: ja no es tracta només de radicalització ideològica, sinó de plans concrets d’acció violenta. I aquests plans no venen de grups estructurats, sinó de joves adoctrinats en la solitud de la seva habitació.

Radicalització sense religió: només odi

Un dels fets més inquietants és que la gran majoria d’aquests joves no tenen coneixement religiós significatiu. Segons el jutge de menors de l’Audiència Nacional, José Luis Castro, només un 11% dels detinguts menors sabia realment què és la xaria o havia llegit e l’Alcorà.

La fiscal especialitzada Ángela Gómez-Rodulfo ho resumeix amb contundència: “El que els mou és l’odi. Si haguessin nascut en un altre context, serien neonazis.” Això no va de fe, sinó de frustració, ressentiment i necessitat de sentir-se part d’alguna cosa gran, encara que sigui destructiva.

Els videojocs son la mesquita salafista

El nou escenari de captació és digital. Ja no són els predicadors fanàtics ni les cel·les secretes: ara són videojocs, xats i vídeos de TikTok. Alguns menors arriben a crear els seus propis videojocs gihadistes, inspirats en plataformes com Roblox o Call of Duty.

Els joves jihadistes són veritables nadius digitals. El jutge Castro i el tenient Luis Barragán de la Guàrdia Civil alerten que aquests videojocs i continguts virtuals actuen com a camps d’entrenament mental i emocional. A més, el 70% dels joves detinguts no tenien cap tipus de supervisió parental, un factor clau en la seva vulnerabilitat.

Joves amb dificultats

No tots els joves poden ser captats. Segons la Guàrdia Civil, el perfil que més abunda entre els menors jihadistes és el d’un adolescent vulnerable, amb dificultats socioeconòmiques, familiars, escolars o emocionals. Alguns provenen de famílies musulmanes, però molts són conversos, atrets per la fascinació d’un discurs que els promet sentit, força i reconeixement.

Són joves que no se senten part de cap comunitat, ni de la societat majoritària ni del seu entorn cultural d’origen. El jihadisme els ofereix una identitat i un enemic clar: Occident. En aquest escenari, la recerca de pertinença es converteix en una arma perillosa quan topa amb el fanatisme.

Hi ha esperança, no reincideixen

Malgrat aquest panorama desolador, els experts coincideixen que la reinserció és possible. El jutge Castro destaca que la reincidència entre els menors condemnats per jihadisme és zero fins ara. Això demostra que, amb el tractament adequat i un acompanyament real, es pot trencar el cicle de la violència.
