Dinamarca amplia la prohibició del burca i el niqab a l’educació

El Parlament danès va aprovar dijous 17 de juliol de 2025 una nova llei que estén la prohibició del burca i el niqab als centres educatius. La norma afecta tant escoles com universitats públiques. Des de l’any 2018, Dinamarca ja prohibia l’ús de peces que cobreixin completament el rostre a l’espai públic, incloent-hi el burca, el niqab, màscares i altres elements considerats com a obstacles a la identificació facial.

Ara s’afegeix que els agents de policia poden requerir a les dones velades que es treguin el vel o abandonin el centre educatiu. Si es neguen, poden ser multades immediatament i si son reincidents poden rebre condemnes de 6 mesos de presó. A més, qualsevol persona que obligui una dona a cobrir-se el rostre s’enfronta a fins a dos anys de presó.

El burca i el niqab, definits com a barreres a la interacció educativa

La nova llei defineix el burca i el niqab com a peces que dificulten el reconeixement facial i la comunicació entre estudiants i professors. El text legal considera que aquestes vestimentes impedeixen una participació pedagògica normal dins de l’aula i que contradiuen els valors de transparència, igualtat i convivència que regeixen el sistema educatiu danès.

El govern ha assenyalat que la norma no es dirigeix contra l’islam com a religió, sinó contra pràctiques concretes que, segons afirma, poden vulnerar els drets de les dones. El ministre de Justícia, Peter Hummelgaard, va declarar que “a Dinamarca, ningú hauria de sentir-se obligat a ocultar el seu rostre per motius religiosos o culturals”.

Tot i que la nova legislació no contempla cap article que afecti les sales de pregària a escoles i universitats, la primera ministra va aprofitar l’anunci de la llei per expressar la seva oposició a aquests espais dins dels campus universitaris. Frederiksen va dir textualment: “Les sales de pregària no són neutrals. Sovint són mecanismes d’opressió més que no pas d’espiritualitat”.

El govern ha demanat als ministeris competents que iniciïn un diàleg amb els centres d’educació superior per evitar que es mantinguin o s’estableixin nous espais dedicats exclusivament a la pràctica religiosa. Aquesta iniciativa no forma part del text legal aprovat, sinó que és una orientació política que el govern preveu desenvolupar en col·laboració amb les institucions educatives.
