Un nou projecte de llei impulsat pel govern de Giorgia Meloni vol regular pràctiques considerades “contràries a la dignitat humana” i protegir la seguretat nacional.

El govern italià ha presentat un projecte de llei amb l’objectiu d’evitar la formació de societats paral·leles i garantir que totes les comunitats religioses actuïn dins del marc legal de l’Estat. La iniciativa s’inscriu en un discurs de cohesió social i defensa de la seguretat ciutadana.

La idea de Giorgia Meloni és posar límits concrets a determinades pràctiques que, sota el paraigua de la tradició cultural o religiosa, poden acabar generant discriminació o fins i tot riscos per a la seguretat nacional. La llei té quatre eixos principals: prohibició de vels facials i proves de virginitat, mà dura contra els matrimonis forçats i prohibir el finançament opac de les mesquites.

Prohibició del burka i el niqab a l’espai públic

El text proposa prohibir el vel integral (burka i niqab) en espais públics com escoles, universitats, botigues o edificis oficials. L’objectiu és doble: evitar riscos de seguretat i promoure la visibilitat, llibertat i dignitat de les dones. Amb aquesta prohibició s’acabaria amb situacions com la de l’insitutut de Montfalcone on cada dia han d’identificar noies amb niqab per saber qui son.

La mesura no afecta el hijab, que només cobreix el cabell. Les sancions previstes oscil·larien entre 300 i 3.000 euros per a les infractores.

Matrimonis forçats i proves de virginitat

El text reforça les lleis que castiguen els matrimonis forçats i introdueix la coacció religiosa com a circumstància agreujant. També es proposa criminalitzar les proves de virginitat, que quedarien prohibides i castigades amb presó.

Els govern afirma que aquestes pràctiques atempten contra la dignitat de la persona i constitueixen actes culturals d’imposició.

Control del finançament religiós

El projecte estableix noves regles per a les organitzacions religioses no reconegudes oficialment, com moltes mesquites. Aquestes hauran de fer públiques les seves fonts de finançament i no podran rebre diners de països o entitats que el govern consideri una amenaça per a la seguretat nacional.

L’Executiu argumenta que aquestes mesures són necessàries per evitar la influència de corrents radicals o extremistes a través del finançament extern.

Queixes dels líders musulmans

Diversos líders musulmans i organitzacions de drets humans han criticat amb duresa el projecte de llei presentat pel govern de Giorgia Meloni. Segons aquestes veus, les mesures contra el burka i el niqab, la penalització dels matrimonis forçats o la prohibició de les proves de virginitat podrien generar estigmatització i limitar la llibertat religiosa. mbé denuncien que el control sobre el finançament de mesquites representa una ingerència en l’autonomia de les comunitats islàmiques i alerten que la norma podria acabar sent discriminatòria.
