Un poble de 900 habitants de França frena un centre d’immigrants

Bélâbre (Berry) aconsegueix aturar un projecte després de dos anys de resistència veïnal.

A Bélâbre, un petit poble de 900 habitants situat al cor del Berry (centre de França), la mobilització popular ha aconseguit una victòria que molts veien com impossible. Segons el testimoni publicat per l’advocat Pierre Gentillet a X (antic Twitter) i recollit per Une Bonne Droite, després de dos anys de lluita constant, el projecte d’instal·lar un centre per a trenta-vuit immigrants ha estat definitivament cancel·lat.

Una resistència tenaç en un poblet oblidat

La lluita va començar l’hivern de 2023, quan es va anunciar la instal·lació d’un centre d’immigrants sense consulta prèvia. Malgrat les condicions climàtiques adverses —fred intens, pluja i vent—, els veïns no van defallir. Es van organitzar més d’una desena de manifestacions, en què, fins i tot en els pitjors dies, una seixantena de persones mantenien viva la protesta a la plaça del poble.

Pierre Gentillet destaca l’esperit col·lectiu que va sorgir d’aquesta mobilització: «Bélâbre, aquest poble aparentment oblidat al cor de França, ha demostrat que no se’l pot trepitjar sense conseqüències.» La força d’aquesta resistència va arrencar gràcies a una primera alerta llançada per una veïna gran, valenta i lúcida, abans que el projecte fos públic.

Una victòria amb ressò nacional

El primer acte de rebel·lia va ser una manifestació en ple hivern, on, contra tot pronòstic, hi van assistir prop de dues-centes persones. La majoria no havia participat mai en política, però en veure alterada la seva tranquil·litat, van decidir plantar cara. Aquesta mobilització, persistent i ben organitzada —amb figures clau com Ludivine Fassiaux—, va acabar forçant les autoritats a abandonar el projecte.

Tot i que el cas de Bélâbre és petit en comparació amb la multitud de centres que es projecten arreu de França, el seu significat és enorme: «Aquest poble ha enviat un missatge clar a l’Estat: no es poden imposar projectes sense el consentiment de la població«, afirma Gentillet.

Malgrat la victòria, la lluita podria no haver acabat. Es rumoreja que el projecte de centre d’immigrants podria traslladar-se a Argenton-sur-Creuse, una ciutat propera i, curiosament, el lloc d’origen de la família de Gentillet. Si és així, la mobilització podria reprendre’s amb la mateixa força.
