L’esquerra de Dinamarca vol prohibir la crida a l’oració «perquè això no és Islamabad»

Un ministre del govern d’esquerres diu al Parlament que la crida islàmica a l’oració “no pertany a Dinamarca” i que els danesos no han de sentir que viuen en un suburbi d’Islamabad.

El govern d’esquerres de Dinamarca vol estudiar si pot prohibir legalment la crida islàmica a l’oració (adhan) que moltes mesquites fan amb altaveus a l’exterior. El ministre socialdemòcrata Morten Bødskov ha defensat que l’adhan “no ha de sonar sobre les teulades daneses” i que els ciutadans no han de tenir la sensació d’haver acabat “en un suburbi d’Islamabad” quan caminen pel seu país, segons ha recollit The Telegraph.

Bødskov va ser especialment contundent al Parlament. “A Dinamarca tenim llibertat religiosa. No tenim igualtat religiosa. Dinamarca és un país cristià”, va afirmar. Segons el ministre, per a la majoria dels danesos la religió és “una qüestió privada” i això vol dir que ningú no ha de poder “molestar els altres sense límits amb la seva fe”. Per això, va concloure, “la crida a l’oració no pertany a Dinamarca”. El ministre també va dir que entén que molta gent ho visqui com una cosa “molt invasiva”.

Dinamarca discuteix el que Europa evita

La proposta també mostra fins a quin punt Dinamarca ha trencat amb el reflex habitual de l’esquerra europea. Mentre en altres països qualsevol crítica a l’islamització queda ràpidament desplaçada cap a la dreta, els socialdemòcrates danesos han assumit que la immigració, la religió i la cohesió nacional són qüestions centrals per a la classe treballadora. La gran diferència danesa és no haver deixat que el debat sobre la identitat del país sigui patrimoni exclusiu dels partits conservadors.

Aquesta manera d’entendre la identitat nacional explica també la duresa danesa contra les societats paral·leles. El govern no veu la integració com un simple tràmit legal, ni com el fet de tenir papers o feina, sinó com l’acceptació d’un marc comú. Per això ha endurit les normes de reagrupament familiar, ha convertit l’estada dels refugiats en temporal per llei i ha impulsat mesures contra barris amb alta concentració de població d’origen “no occidental”.

La idea de fons és clara: si l’Estat permet que es formin espais culturals separats, amb normes pròpies, pressió comunitària i una relació feble amb la llengua, l’escola i les institucions daneses, la cohesió nacional es trenca. I en aquest punt la dimensió religiosa es fa inevitable, perquè bona part del debat danès sobre les societats paral·leles gira al voltant de comunitats musulmanes, del control social intern i de la presència creixent de l’islam en l’espai públic.
