Fernando Alonso ha rebut una allau de crítiques després de presentar el seu nou casc per al Gran Premi d’Aràbia Saudita. El motiu? La imatge del pilot al costat de la dissenyadora saudita Sara Turkestani, completament coberta amb un burka.

Només se li veien els ulls. Alonso somriu. Ella, no ho sabem. La fotografia ha estat publicada pel patrocinador Aramco, i ha encès les xarxes.

“Vergonya”, “complicitat”, “normalització”

Molts usuaris han qualificat la imatge de “vergonyosa”. Altres parlen directament de submissió, esclavitud i violència simbòlica. Alguns denuncien que Alonso i la seva escuderia estan ajudant a “blanquejar” règims que oprimeixen les dones.

Fins ara, Fernando Alonso no ha fet cap declaració. Però el debat s’ha estès molt més enllà del món del motor.
