At around 2.30 pm on Monday 27 October, a number 2 bus connecting the Féval car park with the intra-muros of Saint-Malo (Brittany, France) experienced a moment of panic. A 32-year-old female passenger shouted «Allah Akbar» once and tried to grab the steering wheel to cause an accident. As the vehicle passed in front of a secondary school, the driver's companions said it was lucky that the school was closed that day and he failed to achieve his objective.

There were about twenty passengers on the bus. The driver slammed on the brakes and managed to keep control of the vehicle. He also pressed the emergency button and restrained the woman until the police and other bus drivers arrived.
Due to the braking, several passengers who were standing fell and suffered minor injuries. The woman's mother suffered a blow to the head and had to be taken to hospital.. She herself explained that her daughter is «psychologically fragile when she doesn't take her medication, which has been the case for a few days.».
The woman, a resident of Saint-Malo and unknown to the police, was arrested on charges of «glorification of terrorism» and «wilful violence.» A psychiatric evaluation is scheduled to determine her mental state.
