Guardiola enfadat: «Respecteu la diversitat»

Pep Guardiola no va amagar la seva indignació després del partit. “És el món modern. Respecta la religió, respecta la diversitat. Aquesta és la qüestió”, va afirmar el tècnic del City. També va recordar que la pausa estava acordada per la lliga i que només va durar “un o dos minuts”. “Per què xiuleu? Quin és el problema?”, va afegir, apel·lant directament al respecte per totes les religions.

L’entrenador del Leeds United, Daniel Farke, ha sortit en defensa d’una part de l’afició després dels xiulets que es van sentir durant la pausa per permetre que jugadors del Manchester City trenquessin el dejuni del Ramadà. El tècnic alemany ha suggerit que hi podria haver hagut una confusió sobre el que estava passant al terreny de joc i ha apuntat que alguns espectadors podrien haver interpretat l’aturada com una oportunitat perquè Pep Guardiola donés instruccions tàctiques als seus futbolistes.

“No estic segur que tothom ho sabés, vam parlar que en Pep portés jugadors per fer una xerrada d’equip, crec que els aficionats pensaven que era això”, va explicar Farke. Tot i això, va matisar que si les xiulades van ser realment dirigides contra l’observança religiosa, “això no és acceptable”. Amb aquestes declaracions, el tècnic del Leeds intenta rebaixar la tensió generada per l’episodi, tot situant l’origen dels xiulets en un possible malentès més que no pas en una reacció directa contra la pausa del Ramadà.
