According to media outlets such as European news o The European Conservative, The demonstration took place in front of the Rotes Rathaus (Berlin City Hall), and slogans such as “Drusos out”, “Today we liberate Suwayda” or “We will destroy the Drusos” were heard, as well as chants in support of ethnic cleansing and the rape of women. The protesters also threw hostile chants against Christians, Alawites and Israelis, all while showing their support for the new Islamist leadership of Syria headed by Ahmed al-Sharaa, formerly known by his war name Mohammed al-Jolani.

The demonstrators glorified the murders committed by Islamist groups against Druze and Christian populations in the Suwayda region, in southern Syria. Despite the extreme gravity of the messages, none of the participants were detained or identified. The gathering had not been officially notified.

Islamist videos and speeches circulate with impunity.

The hateful screams were recorded and circulated by Syrian users via Telegram and X (Twitter) channels, where videos were also seen of soldiers and Islamist militiamen shooting civilians in Syria with messages of religious exaltation. According to the RAIR Foundation USA article, Various social media accounts shared the materials as a “victory against the infidels” and they praised the murders of Druze by radical Islamist factions.

None of the videos published have been removed from the platforms, and many still rack up hundreds of shares. Some of the protesters carried religious flags and cameras to record the speeches.

Total institutional silence

Several analysts and German civic organisations have denounced the authorities' inaction. Despite the obvious hate speech and glorification of recent crimes, neither the German Interior Ministry nor the Berlin mayor's office has publicly condemned the events. The Druze community in Europe, especially in Germany and Switzerland, has expressed concern and called for measures to prevent the trivialisation of sectarian violence imported from the Middle East.
