On April 22, 2025, a terrorist attack in Kashmir left 26 dead and more than 20 injured, most of them Hindu tourists. According to reports from France24, the attackers identified the victims as non-Muslims before opening fire.

At around 2:50 p.m., five men armed with M4 and AK-47 rifles, dressed in military uniforms, emerged from the forest and attacked a group of tourists, most of whom were on their honeymoon.
