A Dominican man was seriously injured in a shooting in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat early on Sunday morning. The suspect, also Dominican, was arrested after being involved in a traffic accident during his flight.
At 5 am, Guernica Square in L'Hospitalet became a scene of violence. A man fired five shots at another person, leaving them seriously injured. The victim fell to the ground as the gunman sped off in a white car.
Arrest for a road traffic accident
The shooter tried to flee along the C-31 road. In the course of his escape, he collided with another vehicle. This allowed the Mossos d'Esquadra to catch him. The officers found the weapon used in the attack and arrested the suspect at the scene of the accident.
After the shooting, emergency services took the injured man to the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona. He is in a very serious condition and under police guard. In the coming hours, doctors will operate on him due to the severity of his injuries.
