Three German teenagers in custody for planning jihadist attacks massive
Two girls aged 16 and 17 and a 16-year-old boy have been sentenced to three years in prison for preparing attacks in Düsseldorf.

They were arrested in March 2024 and the Regional Court of Düsseldorf has now delivered its verdict. It has convicted them of conspiracy to commit murder and of planning an arson resulting in death.

The court notes that the three teenagers were radicalised online through consuming Islamic State jihadist propaganda. This extremist influence led them to plan a terrorist attack within two months.
With the help of a fourth teenager – already sentenced to two years' probation – they drew up a list of potential targets: police stations, train stations and court buildings in cities such as Hamburg, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Iserlohn and Stuttgart.
