A four-year-old girl was found raped in a hotel room in Font-Romeu. The suspect is a 52-year-old Moroccan waiter.

The incident occurred on 15 February while her father was in the establishment's bar. The minor was alone in the room when, according to her testimony, a man woke her up, beat her and sexually assaulted her.
When her father returned in the early hours, he found the girl in a state of shock. He immediately alerted the emergency services. Initial medical and psychological examinations have confirmed that the girl may have been sexually assaulted. Investigators consider her testimony to be consistent.
The Moroccan denies the rape
The only person arrested is a 52-year-old Moroccan hotel waiter. He had been working at the establishment for some time and had lived in France for 30 years without any problems. He is currently in pre-trial detention.
The accused flatly denies any involvement. His lawyer has defended his innocence, emphasising that her client is homosexual and feels no attraction to women or children.
Awaiting DNA tests
The investigators are awaiting the results of the DNA tests to determine whether there is any material evidence implicating the suspect. These results will be decisive in deciding whether to keep him in custody or release him.
Meanwhile, the community of Font-Romeu remains consternated by a case that has shaken this small mountain town.
