Predicador musulmà explica que controlar la dona és un deure religiós dels homes

L’imam Youssef Soussi des dels Estats Units defensa que el marit ha de controlar com vesteix i amb qui surt la seva dona, perquè haurà de respondre’n davant Déu el dia del judici.

L’imam Youssef Soussi va afirmar que allò que en el llenguatge liberal occidental es considera “control” o “abús conjugal” dins del marc islàmic és una obligació del marit. “Quan em trobo amb expressions com ‘marit controlador’ o ‘marit abusiu’, no caic de la cadira. Perquè vist des del llenguatge liberal això és negatiu, però en l’Islam pot traduir-se simplement en responsabilitat”, va assenyalar.

Segons Soussi, l’home és responsable davant Déu del comportament de la seva esposa. Això inclou, diu, saber amb qui es relaciona, on va i com vesteix. I és així perquè “el marit haurà de respondre’n el dia del judici. Per això, si li diu a la seva dona ‘així no pots sortir vestida’, no és abús: és la seva obligació religiosa com a qawwam (protector)”, va subratllar. Per l’imam, aplicar categories occidentals a l’Islam és un error: “No podem portar aquest llenguatge a l’Islam”, adverteix.

En contra d’adaptar el discurs pels occidentals

Durant la seva intervenció, Youssef Soussi va criticar durament els imams que, segons ell, adapten el seu llenguatge per agradar al públic occidental. Va posar com a exemple aquells predicadors que parlen de matrimonis “50/50”, on home i dona comparteixen per igual les responsabilitats.

Soussi va alertar que aquesta acomodació al llenguatge liberal occidental debilita la fe dels joves musulmans. Segons ell, molts nois s’allunyen de les mesquites i convencions perquè perceben que els líders religiosos els repeteixen missatges previsibles sobre les obligacions dels homes i els drets de les dones, però eviten temes polèmics per por de perdre seguidors. Per al predicador, aquesta falta de valentia a l’hora d’afrontar qüestions incòmodes contribueix a desconnectar els fidels i a trair el mandat religiós de dir “la veritat encara que sigui amarga”.

Qui és Youssef Soussi?

Youssef Soussi és un orador i predicador musulmà actiu en l’àmbit de la da‘wa (crides religioses) en comunitats musulmanes de l’Oest dels Estats Units. Aborda qüestions de família, identitat i doctrines islàmiques en contextos occidentals. Malgrat que no hi ha confirmació pública que exerceixi com a imam institucional d’una mesquita en particular, se’l presenta sovint amb el títol de imam o sheikh en discursos i publicacions. El seu estil es caracteritza per una defensa explícita de les estructures de poder tradicionals i per una crítica frontal a allò que considera la imposició de categories liberals en l’àmbit musulmà.
