La British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) ha cancel·lat una formació després que els tres ponents publiquessin missatges antisemites a X, segons ha revelat The Telegraph (24/05/2025). Els missatges comparaven Israel amb el règim nazi i atacaven obertament el sionisme amb un llenguatge extrem. Un d’ells va escriure «pura alegria» per un atac d’iran a Israel amb míssils.

L’esdeveniment s’havia de celebrar el 15 de maig i comptava amb tres ponents de prestigi acadèmic: la professora Ghazala Mir (Universitat de Leeds), el doctor Tarek Younis (Universitat de Middlesex) i el professor Ahmed Hankir (Universitat de Cardiff).

Recopilació de missatges a les xarxes

Els plans van canviar quan l’ONG UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) va presentar a la BABCP una recopilació de missatges publicats pels formadors. L’associació va obrir una investigació interna i va encarregar una revisió independent per valorar el contingut difós a X (abans Twitter). La directora de l’ONG, Caroline Turner, ha celebrat la decisió afirmant: “Aquests acadèmics han demostrat no ser aptes per formar ningú”.

Entre les publicacions més greus hi havia missatges de la professora Mir acusant Israel de cometre “genocidi i apartheid” . En altres posts, parlava obertament de “pagadors sionistes” i suggeria que el moviment sionista havia col·locat “agents” israelians a la Cambra dels Lords. Va ser aquesta professora qui va sentir «alegria pura» per l’atac amb míssils sobre Israel.

Per la seva banda, el Dr. Younis afirmava: “Les nostres institucions sanitàries tenen un problema amb el sionisme” i assegurava que “la feina no està feta fins que tots els sionistes siguin expulsats de les nostres institucions i siguin humiliats, juntament amb tots els racistes, fins a desaparèixer”. També havia comparat els sionistes amb feixistes en altres publicacions i havia participat en una campanya legal per intentar eliminar la prohibició del grup terrorista Hamàs al Regne Unit.

Els tres ponents han estat contactats per mitjans britànics. El professor Hankir ha declinat fer comentaris, mentre que tant ell com la professora Mir i el doctor Younis neguen haver expressat opinions antisemites.
