Musulmans demanen retirar el porc de les escoles d’un poble de Galícia

Una associació de famílies musulmanes ha traslladat a l’Ajuntament de Lalín una petició perquè s’elimini la carn de porc dels menús escolars dels centres educatius del municipi. L’argument principal és el compliment de les normes alimentàries dictades per l’islam, que prohibeixen el consum de porc.

La petició ha estat adreçada directament a l’alcalde, José Crespo, del Partit Popular, que ha rebutjat rotundament la proposta. En declaracions als mitjans, Crespo ha deixat clar que “a Lalín sempre s’ha menjat porc, i així seguirà sent”. Ha afirmat que no veu motius per modificar els menús escolars en funció de creences religioses concretes. També ha recordat que l’Ajuntament no té competències directes sobre els menjadors escolars, que depenen de la Xunta de Galícia.

«Qui ve, ha d’adaptar-se»

L’alcalde ha expressat la seva preocupació perquè, segons ell, aquest tipus de demandes poden generar conflicte social, i ha advertit que no acceptarà que es qüestionin costums que considera arrelats en la identitat cultural local. Crespo ha remarcat que a Lalín conviuen moltes persones de diferents orígens, però ha insistit que “qui ve, ha d’adaptar-se”.

Explica l’alcalde que els gallecs quan van emigrar a països com Cuba, Buenos Aires, Veneçuela, Suïssa o Andorra, es van adaptar a les normes del lloc i no van intentar imposar les seves pròpies costums. «Mai vam arribar amb la pretensió d’imposar les nostres normes», ha remarcat, en una crítica implícita als sol·licitants.

La petició, tot i que ha estat formulada de manera pacífica i argumentada, ha generat reaccions diverses entre la ciutadania. Algunes veus reclamen més flexibilitat i respecte cap a les minories religioses, mentre que d’altres consideren que canviar els menús seria una cessió innecessària.

Els productors de porc: «És el que ens faltava»

En declaracions a El Debate, alguns ramaders han expressat la seva indignació de manera directa. «És el que ens faltava», lamenta un productor local. Altres afegeixen que «avui en dia ja tenim suficients problemes com per haver de preocupar-nos també per aquest tipus de peticions«.

Els ramaders alerten que el sector ja està travessant una situació complicada a causa de l’augment dels costos de producció, la competència exterior i les exigències mediambientals. Ara, a aquest panorama s’hi afegeix una nova preocupació, que interpreten com un qüestionament cultural i comercial.
