Police sources explain that the victim was in the skate park on Friday evening (skate park) of Figueres when Two young men approached him with the intention of stealing his mobile phone.. Although the assailants threatened him with a firearm, the minor resisted. It was then that one of the attackers fired a shot directly into his chest and they fled on a moped.
The victim was admitted to hospital in Girona in serious condition. He underwent emergency surgery to remove the bullet from his chest. Doctors say that if the bullet had been a few centimetres further, he could have died.
The Mossos are investigating
The underage victim was Dominican, and, according to witnesses, so were the attackers.
The investigators suspect that it is not a matter of personal revenge, but rather… of a robbery that ended with an extremely violent reaction. However, the accounts of the events are still being reconciled, and the victim has, for the time being, not been very cooperative with the police.
