Chahinez Daoud tenia només 31 anys quan va ser assassinada de manera brutal pel seu exmarit. Però aquella tragèdia no va començar el 4 de maig de 2021. El seu infern havia començat cinc anys enrere, quan va conèixer Mounir Boutaa a Algèria. L’home era algerià amb nacionalitat francesa i va anar uns dies al seu país. Es van conèixer i per ella va ser l’oportunitat de viure una vida lliure.

Va acceptar anar a França amb ell. Volia oferir als seus fills un futur millor. Però un cop instal·lada a l’Estat francès, aquella promesa es va convertir en un cercle de control i violència. Segons va explicar una font policial a Le Figaro, Mounir no acceptava que ella volgués viure com una dona francesa. Volia imposar-li un model de submissió total, tal com ell entenia el paper de la dona dins la seva visió patriarcal i autoritària.

Volia vestir texans

Chahinez volia vestir com qualsevol altra dona del país: texans, samarreta, sabates esportives. Volia treballar, sortir, ser independent. Però ell la controlava obsessivament: no la deixava sortir sola, li revisava el telèfon, li prohibia treballar, i fins i tot la va amenaçar amb destruir els papers legals del seu fill gran, per tal de tenir-la sotmesa.

La relació es va deteriorar ràpidament, i amb ella, l’estat emocional i físic de Chahinez. Les amigues van començar a veure senyals evidents de maltractaments: blaus, cops, actituds de por. Els veïns sentien crits. Però ella, com tantes dones atrapades en una situació de violència, no ho explicava tot. “Era molt discreta. Només deia que era complicat”, recordaria una jove amiga seva.

Denúncies i innacció de l’estat

El 2020, Chahinez no va callar. No va aguantar en silenci. Va lluitar. Va denunciar el seu home per «voler una dona algeriana com a Algèria». I ho va fer sabent el risc que corria. Però el sistema va fallar estrepitosament.

La primera denúncia va arribar després d’una agressió greu: Mounir havia intentat escanyar-la. El cas va arribar als tribunals, i ell va ser condemnat a nou mesos de presó. Però la sentència no va suposar cap trencament real del vincle de perill: ni protecció reforçada, ni seguiment sistemàtic, ni mesures de control efectives.

Només dos mesos abans del seu assassinat, Chahinez va tornar a denunciar-lo. Aquesta vegada, Mounir la va agredir al carrer, la va forçar a entrar al seu vehicle i va tornar a amenaçar-la. Chahinez ho va explicar tot a la comissaria de Mérignac. Però el destí li tenia preparada una nova humiliació: el policia que la va atendre havia estat ell mateix condemnat per violència masclista.

La resposta institucional va ser tan negligenta, que cinc agents van ser posteriorment sancionats. De fet, Segons France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine, la família de Chahinez ha denunciat l’Estat per “falta greu” en la seva responsabilitat de protegir-la.

Cadena perpètua

Ara la justícia ha dictat sentència. El divendres 28 de març de 2025, el Tribunal d’Assises de la Gironda va condemnar Mounir Boutaa a cadena perpètua amb un mínim de compliment de 22 anys. Se’l va declarar culpable d’assassinat amb premeditació. La decisió arriba després d’un judici tens, carregat d’emoció i ràbia continguda, celebrat a Bordeus.

El tribunal també va escoltar el relat esfereïdor dels fets: el matí del 4 de maig de 2021, Boutaa va passar hores amagat dins una furgoneta davant de casa de la seva exparella. Quan Chahinez va sortir, ell li va disparar dues vegades a les cames. Ferida i estesa al terra, la va ruixar amb líquid inflamable i la va cremar viva. Un veí va intentar intervenir, però Mounir el va apuntar amb una arma. Després va fer sortir el fill gran de la víctima de casa seva i va incendiar l’habitatge.
