Britànica volia sacrificar els seus fills per l’Estat Islàmic

Una mare pretenia viatjar a l’Afganistan amb els seus quatre fills per convertir-los en màrtirs gihadistes.

Segons va informar el Daily Mail el 10 d’abril de 2025, una mare britànica de 36 anys ha estat condemnada a cadena perpètua per intentar viatjar a l’Afganistan amb els seus quatre fills. La seva intenció era oferir-los com a màrtirs a l’Estat Islàmic, en un pla que la justícia ha qualificat de “simplement malvat”.

La justícia ha determinat que Jami havia radicalitzat els seus fills i tenia la intenció d’unir-se a la branca afganesa de l’Estat Islàmic (ISK), on volia participar en atemptats suïcides juntament amb ells. La jutgessa Cheema-Grubb ha afirmat que els seus actes eren “simplement malvats” i que la seva voluntat d’oferir els fills com a màrtirs era “gairebé inconcebible”. “No hi ha cap senyal que estigui en procés de desradicalització”, va afirmar la jutgessa. Tant és així que Jami va reclamar el dret a aparèixer amb burka a la seva fitxa policial, després que es publiqués una imatge seva amb el cabell descobert.

De vigilant de menjador escolar a activista gihadista

Farishta Jami, nascuda a l’Afganistan, va arribar al Regne Unit el 2008 i vivia aparentment integrada. Durant anys va fer de supervisora en un menjador escolar i assistia regularment a classes d’estudi de l’Alcorà. A ulls dels veïns, era una mare amable i discreta, que fins i tot compartia menjar amb qui vivia a prop. Però darrere aquesta aparença s’hi amagava una activista gihadista. Jami gestionava canals de propaganda de l’Estat Islàmic a Telegram, on difonia vídeos de violència i instruccions per cometre atemptats.

El més greu, però, és que volia implicar-hi els seus fills. Pretenia portar-los a l’Afganistan i convertir-los en màrtirs en atacs suïcides. La fiscalia i la sentència ho van deixar clar. Un dels seus fills, de fet, va compartir vídeos violents amb companys d’escola. Aquest fet va posar en marxa una investigació que acabaria revelant la doble vida de Jami i portant-la davant la justícia.

Una mare que adoctrinava els seus fills

Les autoritats britàniques van activar protocols de protecció per als menors, que han estat separats de la seva mare. Els serveis socials i el programa Prevent han iniciat la desradicalització dels nens. Durant el judici, es va confirmar que Jami havia enviat vídeos de l’atac de Hamàs a Israel a un dels seus fills, que després els va compartir amb altres alumnes per Teams.

Jami va intentar justificar les seves activitats dient que només volia “debatre i desafiar opinions extremistes”, però les proves la van delatar.

El dubte de la integració

Aquest cas ha reobert el debat sobre el radicalisme islamista al Regne Unit, especialment entre persones que aparentment estan integrades. El cap de la Policia Antiterrorista de West Midlands, Alison Hurst, va qualificar el cas de “realment horripilant”, especialment pel fet que els nens fossin víctimes d’adoctrinament actiu. “Era una mare que ajudava els seus fills a convertir-se en terroristes”, va afirmar la fiscal Michelle Heeley KC.

Ara, Jami passarà almenys 17 anys a presó abans de poder demanar llibertat condicional. Mentrestant, els seus fills intenten refer les seves vides lluny de l’ombra d’una mare que va triar el fanatisme abans que la maternitat.
