The man, who has more than 70 previous convictions for theft and violent crimes, He has been arrested again by the Mossos d'Esquadra. Despite his long criminal record, Mohamed K. continued to act with complete impunity.
The residents of Sant Celoni and Barcelona are breathing a sigh of relief after his arrest. Many considered him a public menace, as he had been arrested dozens of times but always returned to the streets. This time, however, a judge has ordered his immediate remand in custody.
Three robberies in a week
The first theft in the offender's latest spree began on the night of 6 to 7 February. He broke into a gym by smashing the glass of one of the doors and made off with the coins inside.
A few days later, on 9 February, he raided a bar, opened the till and stole €230. The staff chased him, but were forced to stop when he threatened them with a large knife.
His last theft was on 13 February, in the early afternoon. He entered a perfume shop in Sant Celoni and made off with four perfumes worth €470.
This time, his luck ran out quickly. The security cameras recorded the moment of the theft. Just an hour later, the Mossos d'Esquadra located him in the street with the perfumes still on him.
After his arrest, investigators linked him to the other two robberies and charged him with three offences in less than a week.
