Some papers with the message “stupro alle cristiane” have appeared in an underground passage in Viareggio (Tuscany). There has been no reaction, explanation or investigation.

The local media 50 News Versilia has spread the news of the appearance of some papers with the message “stupro alle cristiane” (rape Christian women) in an underground passage in Viareggio, Tuscany. According to the outlet, the posters appeared in the della Rondinella underpass. The images have circulated rapidly on social media.

The message, written in Italian and in capital letters, leaves little room for interpretation. It is not a generic graffiti tag or an abstract provocation, but a direct reference to sexual violence against Christian women.

At present, there is no confirmed authorship nor any public explanation from the local authorities as to whether an investigation has been opened, whether the leaflets have been removed, or whether the case is being treated as a threat or as an act of incitement to hatred.
