Un pare ha fet saltar les alarmes a Viena. Primer a les xarxes socials i després mitjans com l’Exxpress.at se n’han fet ressò. El seu fill, catòlic, ha de participar en una festa del Ramadan a l’escola. No hi ha hagut cap festa de Nadal, però ara, sí, arriba l’iftar, el trencament del dejuni musulmà i l’escola el celebra. A més, segons denuncia el pare, molts nens de la classe parlen només àrab. Fins i tot hi ha una mestra assignada per a això.

Una celebració islàmica a una escola pública

La polèmica ha esclatat a una escola pública de Leopoldstadt, districte de Viena. La direcció del centre ha anunciat que tots els alumnes hauran de participar en la celebració del Ramadà, organitzada pel professor de religió islàmica amb suport de l’AMPA. L’escola ha advertit que l’assistència és obligatòria i que qualsevol absència ha de ser justificada amb la tutora.

“El nostre fill és catòlic. Per què hauria de celebrar el Ramadà? Si volguéssim això, viuríem a l’Aràbia!”,

Segons el mateix pare, no es va fer cap festa de Nadal. No hi va haver arbres, ni cantades, ni celebracions cristianes. En canvi, el Ramadà ha arribat amb tota la força i el suport institucional. I això ha encès els ànims entre molts pares, que denuncien una desigualtat religiosa flagrant.

Resposta de les autoritats: “És cultural, no religiós”

La Direcció d’Educació de Viena ha restat importància a la polèmica. Segons afirmen, es tracta només d’un acte cultural, que dura uns 10-15 minuts per classe i no inclou rituals religiosos. La participació, asseguren, és voluntària i els nens que no hi vulguin assistir seran atesos en una altra aula.

També afegeixen que sí que es va celebrar el Nadal, amb cançons, xerrades sobre com se celebra al món i dolços per Sant Nicolau. Però els pares crítics no ho veuen igual.

Reaccions a les xarxes: Viena o Kabul?

Els comentaris dels ciutadans no s’han fet esperar. A les xarxes socials, molts denuncien una «islamització encoberta» de les escoles públiques vieneses. Alguns fins i tot parlen d’“una submissió humiliant” i alerten que Viena s’està convertint en «Kabul occidental».

Altres usuaris, amb to sarcàstic, afirmen que “aviat totes les nenes austríaques hauran de dur vel” i que “el trencament del dejuni serà la nova festa nacional”.

Mentrestant, les autoritats insisteixen que tot funciona bé i que “la majoria dels nens s’ho passen bé amb el Ramadà, independentment de la seva religió”.
