A dialogue shared on TikTok by the @VozDePaz85 channel shows the Salafist preacher Omar Shawki criticising the content of the New Testament. In his intervention, Shawki states: “I know that you all want to read the New Testament because it's very convenient; it's a message that sells love all the time.”

According to him, this approach is insufficient because “There is no love without discipline, and there is no society without discipline.”Throughout the conversation, the preacher contrasts Christianity with Islam, which he describes as a religion of strict rules that govern everyday life: praying five times a day, abstaining from alcohol and maintaining regulated sexual conduct.

Shawki maintains that this discipline “develops the human being”. His interlocutor reminds him that a good Christian should follow a level of discipline equivalent to that of a Muslim.

[Omar Shawkii] I know you all want to read the New Testament, because it's very convenient, the New Testament is super-convenient, the New Testament is a message that sells love all the time, it's always selling love, I find it incredible, but there is no love without discipline, and there is no society without discipline, and what Islam does, which really fucks up the message of the created Christianity, is that it is a religion of discipline, in which you have to pray five times a day, in which if there is a woman you do not approach her, in which if you have to get drunk you do not do it, Islam is a message that develops the human being, just as does the Christianity of Jesus, just as does the Buddhism of Jesus.

[Interlocutor] And to conclude the debate, just so you know, to be a good Christian you must have exactly the same discipline as a Muslim.
