Muslim attacks a woman in Barcelona city centre shouting «Christian whore»

The woman was strolling along La Rambla when a Moroccan man asked her what religion she followed. When she said she was Christian, he assaulted her. The Mossos rule out religious radicalism and are investigating the motive.

According to police sources gathered by The Case, At around two in the morning on 8 April, a Moroccan boy approached a woman walking along the Rambla. He asked her about her religion; she replied that she was Christian, and he assaulted her while shouting «Christian whore.».

The woman was treated for minor injuries and the City Police arrested the attacker on charges of assault and hate crime.

The Mossos rule out that he is a religious radical.

The Mossos d'Esquadra intelligence units analysed the case to determine whether the assault could be linked to any process of radicalisation. They concluded that the young man has no religious issues, and the investigation has been transferred to the Les Corts police station to establish the attacker's possible motive.
