Figueres (Junts) destapa un frau massiu en l’empadronament

L’Ajuntament dona de baixa 804 ciutadans i perd un 1,5% de població. Moltes persones figuraven empadronades en domicilis on no hi viuen.

L’Ajuntament de Figueres ha presentat el resultat d’una investigació per detectar irregularitats. La Policia Local ha intensificat els controls per verificar que els empadronaments siguin correctes. L’objectiu és evitar que persones obtinguin avantatges administratius de manera fraudulenta.

Gràcies a la batuda han trobat 804 empadronaments il·lícits i han procedit a donar-los de baixa del padró municipal.

Mètodes per controlar el padró

Segons el consistori, el frau es detecta sobretot en habitatges amb moltes persones registrades. En alguns casos, un sol domicili arribava a tenir desenes d’empadronats sense cap justificació.

Les inspeccions s’han intensificat en els últims mesos. La Policia Local revisa casos sospitosos i comprova si les persones empadronades realment viuen als domicilis declarats.

Perjudici pels serveis municipals

L’alcalde de Figueres, Jordi Masquef, ha assegurat que aquest tipus d’irregularitats perjudiquen els serveis municipals. L’empadronament permet accedir a ajudes i serveis públics, i les inscripcions fraudulentes poden saturar el sistema.

L’empadronament és requisit per accedir al sistema de salut pública i per a la matriculació en centres educatius públics de la ciutat.​ No consta que la Generalitat retiri targetes sanitàries.

Aquest tipus de frau s’ha detectat en altres municipis catalans. Figueres vol frenar aquesta pràctica i garantir que només s’empadroni qui compleixi els requisits legals.
